Puffer Fish right fielder Cisco Alvarado left his imprint on his team's 8-4 win over the North Ft. Myers Gators. Alvarado was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times for Plattsburgh in the contest. The winning pitcher was Lou Bancroft. His record now stands at 13-4. The right-hander went 8 innings, allowing 4 runs on 8 hits for the Puffer Fish. Plattsburgh, now 60-34, holds down first place in the Menard's Low A.
The Puffer Fish got a big hit from designated hitter Dave Beck. In the bottom of the sixth, Beck smacked a 3-run home run off North Ft. Myers pitcher Tanner Williamson. It was his 6th home run of the season. Suddenly, the Puffer Fish were ahead, 5-4.
"We just try to have good at-bats, whether we're winning, losing, or tied," said Alvarado.
