Panda Park was the site for United States Silver League action featuring the Montana Pandas and Memphis Mockingbirds.
Getting an impressive start from P.J. O'Day, Memphis beat Montana by the score of 5-2. O'Day, now 3-2, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 5, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs. David Thornton earned the save, his 8th.
The Mockingbirds got an important contribution from catcher Carlos Gómez, who in the top of the second knocked a 1-2 slider to left for a solo home run. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Mockingbirds ahead, 2-0.
"We need better swings, better at-bats," said losing manager Andrew Schupick.
Memphis bumps their record to 25-29 with the win.
