Loovens Stellar as Baby Blues Coast to 10-1 Win
Wendel Loovens was superb against Long Island. The right-hander, who is tied for 9th in the 3A- with a 8.4 K/9 rate, had a cutter that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a Baby Blues victory. The score was 10-1. The Baby Blues move to 58-38 with the win, while the Ducks drop to 48-48.

Loovens made it look effortless. He scattered 2 hits over 6 innings, while racking up 9 strikeouts. The Quebec City right-hander encountered little resistance from the Long Island hitters. His season record is now 5-4.

"It was a tough day, no getting around it," said losing manager Don Martin.
