Tight Tilt Goes to White Walkers, 3-2
|
The MSL Buffalo White Walkers ushered in the 2058 season with a win versus the MSL Hollywood Shredders at MSL Buffalo Ballpark. The final score was 3-2. Starting Pitcher Jake Haynes, the 2nd overall pick in the 2058 draft, had a standout performance. Haynes picked up the win for MSL Buffalo, going 6 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 1-0.
The White Walkers got a big at-bat from third baseman Chris Gillespie. For the game, Gillespie went 1-3 with a home run and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave MSL Buffalo a 3-2 lead.
"I just try to go out and give it 100 percent every game," Gillespie told a local reporter after the game. "That's my mantra, and like today, it will pay off more often than not."
