Patriots Best Blue Demons in Pitching Duel
The MSL Boston Patriots got their 2061 season off and running with a win over the MSL Mexico City Blue Demons at MSL Boston Ballpark. The final score was 2-0. MSL Boston pitcher Jacob Wirt, in particular, had a fine performance. The winning pitcher was Wirt, now 1-0. He tossed 5.1 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 6.

Alonso Murillo had a big solo home run for the Patriots in the bottom of the fifth inning. With MSL Boston leading 1-0 and the bases empty, he sized up a fastball from Reggie Franks, the 17th overall pick in the 2061 draft, and punished it. The result was his 1st home run of the season, which put the Patriots on top, 2-0.

"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Murillo.
