White Walkers Fall Short, 3-2, at MSL Northern Virginia
The MSL Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids eked out a 3-2 win versus the MSL Buffalo White Walkers at MSL Northern Virginia Ballpark. Nobody did more than pitcher Mitch Brooks. He was terrific. Brooks, now 1-1, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 7, walking 0, and allowing 2 runs. Ray Berard got the save, the 3rd for him this season.

Diego Báez aided the MSL Northern Virginia cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the third. For the game, the first baseman went 1-3.

"I just tried to focus on getting that first guy out every inning," said Brooks.

The loss has the White Walkers at 2-3.
