The MSL Detroit Elite defeated the MSL Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids, 16-5. Doing his part was designated hitter Ramón Martínez, who went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 5. Otojiro Kozawa, the winning pitcher, improved to 1-1. He pitched 6 innings, giving up 5 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 5 and walking 5. The loss drops MSL Northern Virginia to 4-1.

With MSL Detroit leading 1-0 in the bottom of the second, Billy Douglas hit a run-scoring single off MSL Northern Virginia pitcher Rafael Gómez. It put the Elite ahead 2-0.
