Pittsburgh Nets 3-2 Win Versus Lighthouse
|
The Pittsburgh Kingfishers eked out a 3-2 win versus the Long Island Lighthouse at Pittsburgh Grounds. Nobody did more than pitcher Luis Rojas. He was terrific. The Kingfishers improved their record to 28-26 with the win over Long Island.
Had Kelsey Tate not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Tate hit a 2-run single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Kingfishers.
"The other side played a good game," said Long Island manager Michael Esposito. "You tip your cap to them."
