MSL New Orleans pitcher Brandon Whitney did his part in helping his team defeat the MSL Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids, 9-0. The opposition could never get too much going against the right-hander. MSL New Orleans is now 2-5.
Diego Vega had a big grand slam home run for the Voodoo in the top of the first inning. With MSL New Orleans leading 3-0 and the bases loaded, he got a changeup from 18-year old right-handed pitcher Marty Collins and swatted a home run to right-center. It was his 1st home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Voodoo ahead, 7-0.
"Nice to get this one," said Vega. "Wins have been hard to come by."
