Thunder Deal Patriots Painful Loss
|
Despite a fine performance by center fielder Roberto Soto, the Boston Patriots lost to the Toronto Thunder, 7-6, in 11 innings. Soto went 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Reliever Ken Irvin picked up the win. His record improves to 3-0. Lawrence Wood took the loss. With the loss, Boston sinks to 11-6.
The Thunder got a clutch hit from first baseman Justin Allen. In the bottom of the 11th, he hit a run-scoring single to left, to win the game for the Thunder.
"We'll take some time to unwind," said Allen, "and then get after it again."
