The MSL Memphis Mockingbirds beat the MSL Boston Patriots, 4-3. MSL Memphis pitcher and Managua, Nicaragua, native Andrés Pérez led the way. The winner was Pérez. He threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball. The loser was Tomás Erdozain. José Mojica finished to wrap up his 2nd save.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Pedro Méndez? The MSL Memphis right fielder had a 2-run double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Mockingbirds on top, 4-0. For the game, Méndez had 1 double and 2 singles in 4 at-bats.
After the game, MSL Memphis manager Royce Rolls applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
The win puts MSL Memphis at 3-5.
