Ramos Excels, But Rainbow Mermaids Win
|
MSL Toronto shortstop Gerardo Ramos was sensational. He went 3 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. MSL Northern Virginia beat the Thunder, 7-5. The winning pitcher was Javier Flores. He tossed 88 pitches over 5.2 innings, allowing 5 runs on 10 hits. Pedro Rocha was credited with the save for MSL Northern Virginia, his 1st of the season.
Manny Pérez, the MSL Northern Virginia right fielder, contributed a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fourth inning to make the score 3-2, Rainbow Mermaids. For the game, Pérez went 2 for 4 with 2 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"We're in a little bit of a dry spell," said MSL Toronto manager Jake Grant.
MSL Northern Virginia has 3 straight wins, MSL Toronto 5 straight losses.
