Stingers Down Kingfishers, 3-1

The exploits of catcher Young-kwang Hwang helped the MSL Toledo Stingers defeat the MSL Pittsburgh Kingfishers, 3-1. Hwang was 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Stepka Milovanov, now 1-0, was credited with the win in 3.1 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on 4 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 1. Junior López closed the door for MSL Toledo, picking up his 4th save of the year.
The game turned with two out in the top of the fourth when Hwang hit a 2-run home run. It thrust the Stingers into the lead, 2-0.
"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Stingers manager José Pinto, "I like our chances."
The Stingers win now puts them at 6-6.
