Genovese, Stingers Fall to Rainbow Mermaids
The MSL Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids overcame a pretty good performance by MSL Toledo first baseman Onfrio Genovese, beating the Stingers, 6-4, at MSL Northern Virginia Ballpark. Genovese went 4 for 4 with 2 home runs and 2 singles. Ian Barnes picked up the win, lifting his record to 2-0 on the season. He struck out 4 and walked 2 in 8.2 innings, while yielding 4 runs. Bill Young collected his 2nd save.

Lyndon Dyball, the MSL Northern Virginia second baseman, contributed a run-scoring single in the bottom of the third inning to make the score 2-0, Rainbow Mermaids. For the game, Dyball was 1-4.

"We're not really clicking on anything right now," said MSL Toledo manager José Pinto.

The last-place Stingers have lost 8 consecutive games.
