Durán on a Rampage, Hits for Cycle
|
Getting 4 hits is a good day by any measure, but when those include a single, double, triple and a home run -- that's something special. Jesús Durán's day was a special one.
The right fielder hit for the cycle to spark the 8-2 MSL Hollywood Shredders victory over the MSL Colorado Billy Goats at MSL Colorado Ballpark. MSL Hollywood manager Ricardo López said he thought the whole lineup looked good in batting practice, but had not been expecting anything extraordinary from Durán in particular.
"Jesús caught me by surprise today," the skipper said. "He looked good before the game, but man, he looked unbelievable during it."
For the day, Durán finished with 2 RBI and 3 runs scored to go with his 4 hits.
Jesús Durán flied out in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Román Bravo in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, tripled in the 6th and doubled in the 8th.
So far this season, Durán has gotten 14 hits in 49 at-bats for a .286 batting average with 3 home runs. His stats include 7 RBIs and 8 runs scored. He has played in 12 games.
