Fragata Helps Mockingbirds Beat Thunder, 9-3
|
The MSL Memphis Mockingbirds pinned a convincing loss on the MSL Toronto Thunder, 9-3, at MSL Memphis Ballpark. Narciso Fragata was a main factor in the win. He was 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4 for MSL Memphis. Carlos Herrera, the winner, improved to 2-1. He held MSL Toronto to no runs on 3 hits over 7.2 innings, while racking up 8 strikeouts. The Mockingbirds, at 4-8, sit in last place in the PL MSL.
The Mockingbirds got a big boost from shortstop Jed Dye who had a run-scoring ground out in the bottom of the third inning off Thunder hurler Carlos López. It was his 4th RBI of the season and put MSL Memphis on top, 1-0.
"I like to lead by example," said Dye. "I'm glad I could contribute to a good win."
