Rainbow Mermaids Down Voodoo, 13-6
The MSL New Orleans Voodoo could not turn a fine performance from left fielder Stéphane Guilbert into a win. Instead, the MSL Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids prevailed, 13-6, in 10 innings. Guilbert was 2-3 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. The winner was MSL Northern Virginia reliever Ray Berard, now 1-0. The loser was Gerard Johnson. The Rainbow Mermaids sit in second place in the PL MSL with a record of 8-5.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the top of the tenth, with the game tied, Diego Báez was at the plate when MSL Northern Virginia scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Rainbow Mermaids to go in front, 6-5.

"It's nice to deliver when your team's counting on you," said Báez.
