Rainbow Mermaids Win Streak Reaches 6
|
The MSL Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids extended their winning streak.
Mario Espinosa was nothing short of phenomenal for the MSL Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids. The 16-year-old left-hander was a big reason his team beat the MSL New Orleans Voodoo, 3-1. Espinosa picked up the win for MSL Northern Virginia, going 7 innings. He gave up 1 run on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 2-1.
The Rainbow Mermaids got a gift in the top of the seventh inning, when they were leading 1-0. With two out and the bases loaded, Larry McGuire reached on an error by the SS, driving in 1 run. It made the score 2-0, MSL Northern Virginia.
"The bar for us is not a particular opponent, it's ourselves," said MSL Northern Virginia manager Leslie Brooks.
By defeating MSL New Orleans, the 5th-place Rainbow Mermaids improved to 8-6.
