The MSL Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids scored a tight, 3-2 win versus the MSL Ft. Worth Cattlemen at MSL Ft. Worth Ballpark. MSL Northern Virginia pitcher Urpo Mäkitie held his own in the contest. Juan Carlos Mejía was called on to finish, recording his 7th save. With the win, MSL Northern Virginia raised its record to 10-5.

MSL Northern Virginia used a timely hit from Carlos Ríos to get the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Rainbow Mermaids ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it made an impact.

"The fact of the matter is that we had a shot to win," said losing manager Alwin Vreekamp.
