The MSL Toronto Thunder earned a close win over the MSL Toledo Stingers, thanks in part to Roberto Martínez. The MSL Toronto right-hander, who is tied for 9th in the PMSL with a 1.04 WHIP, played a key role in the 3-2 victory. The first-place Thunder have won 4 in a row.

Ismael Salcido found himself in a pressure situation in the top of the eighth. Facing MSL Toledo hurler Romochka Vlyalko, the 18-year-old second baseman hit a sacrifice fly. His 8th RBI of the season put the Thunder on top, 3-2.

"We had the game right there for the taking," said MSL Toledo manager José Pinto. "But we decided not to take it."
