José Valdéz imposed his will on the Shredders from the get-go. Relying mainly on his fastball, the right-hander spearheaded the 3-1 MSL Colorado triumph. The winner was Valdéz. He threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball. The loser was Husam Rahman. Arnaldo Ochoa earned the save for MSL Colorado, his 2nd of the year.

In the bottom of the first, 19-year old catcher Luis Castro hit a 2-run home run. The 1st home run of the season for the MSL Colorado catcher put the Billy Goats on top, 2-0.

Valdéz pitched well, despite being a bit under the weather. "To be honest, I was sick before the game," he said. "Just a stomach bug."

The Billy Goats improved their record to 6-11 with the win over MSL Hollywood.
