Down to Defeat Goes MSL Hollywood, 2-1

MSL Northern Virginia and MSL Hollywood played a hard-fought contest.
The MSL Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids converted a terrific effort from starter Andreas Andersen into a win over the MSL Hollywood Shredders at MSL Hollywood Ballpark. The Rainbow Mermaids won the game by a final score of 2-1. Andersen picked up the win for MSL Northern Virginia, going 7 innings. He gave up no runs on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 4-1. Ray Berard picked up the save, his 6th.
Roberto Gonzáles, who is tied for 6th in the PMSL with a .435 on-base percentage, had a direct impact on the outcome. Gonzáles contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put MSL Northern Virginia up, 2-0.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Andersen.
The first-place Rainbow Mermaids have won 4 straight games.
