Patriots Fall to Elite Late
The MSL Boston Patriots could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Rick Ernst into a win. Instead, the MSL Detroit Elite prevailed, 6-4. Ernst threw 5.0 innings of 4-hit ball. Mario Gómez collected his 2nd save. With the win, MSL Detroit upped its record to 11-11.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Francisco Hernández? The 16-year old right fielder Hernández stroked a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put MSL Detroit up, 6-4. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.
