The MSL Long Island Lighthouse could not turn a fine performance from third baseman Danny Woodward into a win. Instead, the MSL Boston Patriots prevailed, 4-3. Woodward went 3-3 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The winner was Jack Jones in relief. His record improves to 4-0. Iván Espinoza took the loss. The save was credited to Ken Irvin, his 3rd.
Manuel Aguilar came through with a big-time hit for MSL Boston. The left fielder smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 4-3. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"It was a solid team effort," said Aguilar after the game.
MSL Boston leads the PL MSL by 2½ games.
