Shredders Reel In 3-1 Win
|
MSL Hollywood Ballpark was the site of a competitive game between the MSL Memphis Mockingbirds and MSL Hollywood Shredders.
The bats were silent much of the day at MSL Hollywood Ballpark. But 17-year old right fielder Jesús Durán produced just enough offense to carry the Shredders past the MSL Memphis Mockingbirds, 3-1. Durán was 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Picking up the win was Ashley Kearney. He went 6.1 innings, allowing 1 run on 2 hits. The left--hander struck out 3 and walked 3. Henry Chalcott closed it out for his 1st save.
Carlos Morales, the MSL Hollywood catcher, contributed a run-scoring single in the bottom of the second inning to make the score 2-1, Shredders. For the game, Morales went 2-4 with 2 singles and a walk.
"Every loss stings," said MSL Memphis manager Royce Rolls. "This one is no exception."
The 6th-place Shredders now sit at 13-11.
