Rainbow Mermaids Come Up Short at MSL Mexico City, 4-3
|
The MSL Mexico City Blue Demons scored a tight, 4-3 win versus the MSL Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids at MSL Blue Demon Ballpark. MSL Mexico City pitcher Reggie Franks held his own in the contest. Norberto Chapa picked up his 2nd save of the season. MSL Mexico City, at 11-14, holds down 8th place in the PL MSL.
Armando López had a big 2-run home run for the Blue Demons in the bottom of the fourth inning. With MSL Mexico City trailing 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a fastball from Dudley Farrell, who is tied for 8th in the PMSL in strikeouts with 43, and punished it. The result was his 5th home run of the season, which put the Blue Demons on top, 2-1.
López told a MSL Mexico City News reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
