Mockingbirds Lose to MSL Northern Virginia, 7-1
|
The MSL Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids downed the MSL Memphis Mockingbirds, 7-1, at MSL Memphis Ballpark. Stellar pitching by Andreas Andersen had a lot to do with it. The left-hander, who is tied for 2nd in the PMSL with a 0.84 ERA, handcuffed his opponent all game. The last-place Mockingbirds have lost 5 straight games.
In the top of the second, MSL Northern Virginia catcher Young-jong Sok had a productive at-bat. With a runner on 3rd and two out, Sok stroked a run-scoring single to right. It made the score 2-1, MSL Northern Virginia. For the game, he was 1-4.
"Do what you're good at," said MSL Northern Virginia manager Leslie Brooks. "That's all I ask of the team."
