Bullets Slip Past Rocketeers, 7-3
|
The Baltimore Bullets defeated the Seattle Rocketeers, 7-3, at Baltimore Grounds. Baltimore was led by slugging first baseman Francis O'Farrell, who was 2-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The Bullets with just their 4th win in 17 games, have played uninspired baseball so far.
Had Arturo Prado not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Prado hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Bullets.
Prado expressed little emotion after the game. "Every game we win now," he said, "is one less win we'll need to get in the end."
