Big Day by Baba Ignites Kingfishers Win
|
The MSL Pittsburgh Kingfishers defeated the MSL Hollywood Shredders, 7-4, in part because of left fielder Toyoharu Baba. Baba went 3-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Kingfishers. Kelile Sassi closed it out for MSL Pittsburgh, earning his 8th save. With the win over MSL Hollywood, the Kingfishers improved to 14-14.
Clyde Grant was 1 for 3 with a walk for MSL Pittsburgh. The 18-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 4-4 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Ellerd Zuydam. It was his 12th RBI of the season.
"Nice to tuck this win away," said Baba.
