Burton Helps MSL New Orleans Cruise to 10-3 Win
|
The MSL New Orleans Voodoo pinned a convincing loss on the MSL Detroit Elite, 10-3, at MSL New Orleans Ballpark. Fred Burton was a main factor in the win. He was 4 for 4 with a home run, a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 and driving in 3 for MSL New Orleans. Augusto Gómez got the win, improving to 2-2. He held the Elite to 2 runs on 5 hits over 5.1 innings, while striking out 2 and walking 2. The Voodoo improved to a lofty 20-8.
Ian Clews, who is tied for 9th in the PMSL in triples with 1, contributed to the MSL New Orleans win with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the catcher had 2 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.
"We had some nice at-bats at the right time," said Voodoo manager Kevin Hancock.
