Kozawa, MSL Detroit Prevail in Pitchers' Duel
|
In a low-scoring contest between the MSL Detroit Elite and the MSL New Orleans Voodoo, Otojiro Kozawa, who is tied for 6th in the PMSL with a 1.18 WHIP, proved to be the difference. The MSL Detroit right-hander earned props for his performance in the 2-1 Elite win. Picking up the save was Mario Gómez, his 5th. MSL Detroit is now 14-15, while MSL New Orleans is 20-9.
Kozawa was in the zone, shutting down MSL New Orleans hitters over 7.1 innings. Kozawa, who threw 103 pitches, allowed no runs on 3 hits. He also tallied 7 punchouts.
"This team is capable of getting on a roll," said MSL Detroit skipper Jesús Garces.
