Streaking Piranhas Win Another One, 3-1
|
The MSL Panama City Piranhas beat the MSL Buffalo White Walkers, 3-1, at MSL Panama City Ballpark. Jorge Vargas, in particular, was impressive. He was 2-2 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Danny Crabtree earned the win for MSL Panama City. He lasted 6 innings, allowing 1 run on 2 hits, while striking out 6. With the win, he raised his record to 6-2. The Piranhas have now won 6 straight.
Vargas contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for MSL Panama City in the bottom of the fifth. With his team trailing 1-0, Vargas took a curveball from Cisco Rodríguez and stroked the home run to center. His 4th home run of the season allowed the Piranhas to leap in front, 3-1.
Vargas called the triumph "a good team win."
