Voodoo Deal Patriots 3-2 Loss
|
Baseball fans saw a good contest between the MSL New Orleans Voodoo and MSL Boston Patriots.
In a low-scoring tilt between the MSL New Orleans Voodoo and the MSL Boston Patriots, Oliver de Weever, who is tied for 4th in the PMSL in wins with 5, was the difference-maker. The MSL New Orleans left-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. German Lyadov closed the game out for MSL New Orleans, earning his 11th save.
MSL New Orleans won the game in part because of Michael Callahan. The catcher ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Voodoo ahead, 3-0. For the game, Callahan had 1 double and 1 home run in 3 at-bats.
"Oliver's a gamer," said MSL New Orleans manager Bill Richmond. "Glad he's on our side."
The Voodoo, now 18-14, know that wins in July count the same as wins in September.
