MSL Boston got a valiant performance from pitcher Gérard Varin, but it wasn't enough to beat the MSL New Orleans Voodoo. MSL New Orleans won the game, 1-0. Varin threw 7.0 innings of shutout ball for the losing team. MSL New Orleans, at 15-18, sits in 7th place in the PL MSL.
Runs were hard to come by in this one. Jim Rogalski's at-bat with one out in the top of the eighth, therefore, was critical. The MSL New Orleans third baseman hit a sacrifice fly, to put his team on top, 1-0.
"We came out on the wrong end of this one," said MSL Boston skipper David Henderson.
