MSL Long Island Earns 5-4 Win
|
The MSL Long Island Lighthouse and MSL Vancouver Grey Wolves obliged fans hoping for an exciting game.
MSL Long Island beat MSL Vancouver at MSL Long Island Ballpark, eking out a 5-4 win. The win was due in large part to first baseman Xing-hua Chu. He was 2 for 2 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Iván Espinoza earned the save for MSL Long Island, his 6th.
Chu had a timely hit for MSL Long Island in the bottom of the eighth. With MSL Long Island trailing 4-1, he turned a first pitch cutter into a grand slam home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season, making it 5-4, MSL Long Island.
"We'll keep playing hard and let the chips fall where they may," said MSL Long Island manager Austin Case.
MSL Long Island has now won 4 straight.
