Sosa Stars in 8-6 Win for MSL Long Island
|
A 3-RBI performance from Brandon Sosa, who is tied for 4th in the PMSL in hits with 46, helped the MSL Long Island Lighthouse beat the MSL Vancouver Grey Wolves, 8-6. Mei Guao snagged the win in relief. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 4 hits over 2.1 innings. He's now 1-0 on the season. Earning his 6th save for MSL Long Island was Joaquín Peña.
MSL Long Island got a lift in the bottom of the sixth from catcher Marshall Moore, who hit a fastball to center for a 3-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season put the Lighthouse up, 8-5.
"It wasn't our best performance," said Sosa, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."
The last-place Lighthouse own a record of 11-22.
