Voodoo Topple Rainbow Mermaids with Late Rally
In a tight contest between the MSL New Orleans Voodoo and the MSL Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids, Fernando Escalante was the determining factor. The MSL New Orleans left-hander sparkled in his team's 3-1 win. With the win, the Voodoo sit at 24-10.

The decisive blow was delivered by Joe Steward in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a 2-run home run off 18-year old right-handed pitcher Roberto Alegría to win the game for MSL New Orleans. The home crowd went nuts.

Steward said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
