Fans watched the MSL Seattle Rocketeers and the MSL Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids fight to the finish.

The MSL Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids got a superb performance from pitcher Dudley Farrell, but the MSL Seattle Rocketeers still won the game, 2-1. Farrell threw 8.0 innings of 2-hit ball. Getting the save was Wes Purss, his 3rd.

Mutsuhito Tarumi came through with a big-time hit for MSL Seattle. The shortstop smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to give his team the lead, 2-1. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"The other side played a good game," said MSL Northern Virginia manager Leslie Brooks. "You tip your cap to them."

The third-place Rocketeers have won 4 in a row.
