Thompson Slugs Voodoo to 5-3 Win
|
The 5-3 MSL New Orleans win over MSL Mexico City was due largely to Dustin Thompson. The Voodoo shortstop hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Jaicus Agraan, the winner, improved to 1-1. He held the Blue Demons to 1 run on 4 hits over 6 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 2. Picking up the save was António Barajas, his 2nd.
MSL New Orleans took a 5-1 lead on Thompson's 4th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which he hit off Xin Zhan in the top of the eighth, propelled MSL New Orleans to the win.
Thompson attributed the win to his team's "focus and intensity."
The Blue Demons, at 14-20, have lost 4 in a row.
