Had Bobby Gross not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Gross hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Patriots.

"We ground out the win," said Gross. "That's all that matters."
