Voodoo Take Tight Tangle
MSL New Orleans Ballpark was the site of quite a ballgame.

Starting pitcher Augusto Gómez gave the MSL New Orleans Voodoo a rock-solid effort. The Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic native helped his team defeat the MSL Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids, 2-1, at MSL New Orleans Ballpark. The win puts the Voodoo at 19-16, while the Rainbow Mermaids drop to 16-19.

The game-ending blow was delivered by Eric Small in the bottom of the 11th. That's when he hit a run-scoring double off 19-year old right-handed pitcher Martin Schneider to win it for MSL New Orleans and cause the home crowd to erupt in celebration.

"Baseball is such a beautiful game," said Small. "Anything can happen on any night, and that's why you don't dwell on what happened yesterday. Just look forward and trust you're going to have positive results."
