Rainbow Mermaids Capture Close Win
The MSL Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids spoiled a good performance by MSL Seattle second baseman Kalevi Valkki, bumping off MSL Seattle, 8-7, at MSL Northern Virginia Ballpark. Valkki went 4-5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Robert McQuhirr picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-2. Mauro Escobedo was tagged with the loss. MSL Northern Virginia is now 15-20.

Lyndon Dyball was the walk-off hero for MSL Northern Virginia. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Rainbow Mermaids second baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"No time for flexing," said Dyball. "It's always one game at a time."
