Patriots Earn Clutch Win, 3-2
|
In a low-scoring contest between the MSL Boston Patriots and the MSL Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids, Fabroni Capano was the X factor. The MSL Boston right-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. The save went to Derrick Melis, his 3rd this season. MSL Boston has 3 straight wins, MSL Northern Virginia 4 straight losses.
Héctor Pineda came through with a big-time hit for MSL Boston. The shortstop smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 3-1. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"We need better swings, better at-bats," said losing manager Donald White.
