Flamingos Handed 4-2 Loss by Echo Park
|
The Echo Park Lakers faced a tough opponent in Las Vegas pitcher Gilberto Malfeito, but did just enough to pull out the victory at The Strip by a final score of 4-2. Malfeito went 6.1 innings and allowed 2 runs. Echo Park pitcher Jeremy Dean earned the win, hiking his record to 3-2. Elton Ray suffered the loss. Brendan Fulton recorded his 15th save for Echo Park.
Echo Park used the timely hitting of Orlando Gonzáles to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Lakers on top, 4-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"The effort we put into this one paid off," Gonzáles said.
Today's win puts Echo Park at 31-26, while Las Vegas falls to 24-33.
