Velázquez Now 4-6 After Beating Billy Goats
|
Miguel Velázquez pitched a gem in leading Philadelphia to a 4-0 victory over the Colorado Billy Goats. Picking up the save was Jorge Montoya, his 10th. Philadelphia is now 29-28, while Colorado is 33-24.
Velázquez, who leaned on his slider, allowed no runs on just 3 hits over 8 innings for the Liberty. For the most part, Colorado hitters were simply overmatched.
"I can't say enough about Miguel," said Philadelphia manager Geoff Matt. "He stepped up when we needed him."
