Win Streak Now at 7 for Voodoo
|
The MSL New Orleans Voodoo extended their winning streak.
The MSL New Orleans Voodoo defeated the MSL Las Vegas Flamingos, 9-4, in USPL Mexican Summer League action at MSL Las Vegas Ballpark. MSL New Orleans pitcher Wilfred Pope had a standout performance. Pope, now 10-2, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 5, walking 4, and allowing 1 run. Juan Picardo recorded the save, his 1st.
Lance Morgan had a big run-scoring triple for the Voodoo in the top of the fourth inning. With MSL New Orleans leading 2-1 and a runner on 1st, he got a curveball from 18-year old right-handed pitcher Dan Brown and swatted a triple to left-center. It was his 2nd triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Voodoo ahead, 3-1.
"Nice to keep our winning streak intact," said Pope.
The second-place Voodoo have won 7 in a row.
