Lighthouse Take Down Voodoo, 5-3
|
The Lighthouse earned a hard-fought, 5-3 win in 10 innings at MSL New Orleans Ballpark. To do so required withstanding a fine effort from MSL New Orleans pitcher Fernando Escalante. Escalante went 6 innings and allowed 1 run. Mei Guao, now 2-1, picked up the win in relief. He allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 2 innings. The victory puts MSL Long Island at 15-25.
MSL Long Island used the clutch hitting of Bonie Silivan to capture the win. The designated hitter drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the tenth inning to give the Lighthouse the lead, 3-2. For the game, Silivan had 1 single and 1 double in 5 at-bats.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Silivan. "And not try to do too much."
