Cattlemen Fall, 8-0, to Gross, Voodoo
|
Behind the hitting of Al Gross, the MSL New Orleans Voodoo defeated the MSL Ft. Worth Cattlemen, 8-0. Gross was 4-5 with a home run and 2 doubles. He scored 3 times and drove in 3 for the Voodoo. Robbie Kuhn earned the win for MSL New Orleans. He lasted 6.2 innings, allowing no runs on 1 hit, while striking out 8. With the win, he raised his record to 7-3. MSL New Orleans, having won 11 in a row, is now 30-12.
The Voodoo got an important contribution from catcher Tom Cooper, who in the bottom of the third knocked a first pitch splitter to right for a run-scoring triple. It was his 2nd triple of the season and put the Voodoo ahead, 2-0.
"I like the groove we're in," said Cooper.
