Lighthouse Suffer 5-3 Road Loss
|
The MSL Ft. Worth Cattlemen racked up a win at MSL Ft. Worth Ballpark, bumping off the MSL Long Island Lighthouse, 5-3. Cecil Cornett, who started for MSL Ft. Worth, pitched effectively for his team. Cornett got the win, improving to 4-2. He gave up 6 hits and walked 2 over 6 innings. He allowed 2 runs. Anthony Mai earned the save for MSL Ft. Worth, his 6th of the year.
Marcello Casey had a big grand slam home run for the Cattlemen in the bottom of the fourth inning. With MSL Ft. Worth leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he sized up a fastball from Gustavo Martínez, who leads the PMSL in quality starts with 11, and punished it. The result was his 4th home run of the season, which put the Cattlemen on top, 5-0.
Casey told a MSL Ft. Worth Herald reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
The Cattlemen raised their record to 18-25.
