Shredders Earn 2-0 Home Win
|
MSL Hollywood Shredders starter Carlos Ortega pitched a strong game against the MSL Seattle Rocketeers at MSL Hollywood Ballpark, leading the Shredders to victory, 2-0. Ortega, now 1-0, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 9, walking 0, and allowing no runs. Shi-min Sun locked down his 10th save.
Yuan Chou had a big solo home run for the Shredders in the bottom of the sixth inning. With MSL Hollywood leading 1-0 and the bases empty, he sized up a slider from 16-year old left-handed pitcher Júlio Cantilo and punished it. The result was his 3rd home run of the season, which put the Shredders on top, 2-0.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said MSL Seattle skipper Eric Harvey, "and it cost us."
The win puts MSL Hollywood at 17-26.
