Rocketeers Best Mockingbirds, 5-3
|
The MSL Seattle Rocketeers grabbed a win, 5-3, over the MSL Memphis Mockingbirds at MSL Memphis Ballpark. MSL Seattle left fielder Juan Castillo went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Miguel Arroyo, the winning pitcher, is now 8-3. He went 7.1 innings, allowing 3 runs on 5 hits, while fanning 6 and walking 3. Getting the save was Luis Antonio Vásquez, his 5th.
Castillo contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for MSL Seattle in the top of the fourth. With his team trailing 2-0, Castillo took a splitter from Andrés Pérez and stroked the home run to left. His 4th home run of the season allowed the Rocketeers to leap in front, 3-2.
MSL Seattle manager Ricardo Téllez commended his team for exhibiting "no shortage of effort."
By defeating MSL Memphis, the third-place Rocketeers improved to 25-19.
