Mockingbirds Deal Voodoo 2-0 Loss
|
The MSL Memphis Mockingbirds picked up a win at MSL New Orleans Ballpark, dropping the MSL New Orleans Voodoo, 2-0. Barend Veeneman, who is tied for 7th in the PMSL with a 1.86 ERA, was the difference-maker. Veeneman yielded no runs over 7.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 3, and struck out 2. His record improves to 5-3. José Mojica finished to wrap up his 3rd save.
The outcome was still in doubt in the bottom of the ninth inning. With the bases loaded and MSL New Orleans trailing 2-0, José Mojica needed to get a big out. On a 3-1 slider, Jyotibhasin Chittoor, who is tied for 4th in the PMSL in triples with 2, grounded out, putting the kibosh on a potential rally.
