Macías Leads Charge, Long Island Blasts Oaks
With third baseman António Macías leading the charge, the Long Island Lighthouse defeated the Oakland Oaks, 13-3, at The Oak Grove. Macías, who finished 5th in the SL in on-base percentage with .381 in 2046, went 4-6 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4. Long Island, now 35-23, holds down second place in the Silver League.

With Long Island leading 5-0 in the top of the second, Macías hit a 2-run single off Oakland hurler Nick Snyder. It was the 61st hit of the season for Macías and put his team ahead, 7-0.

"This is a very good team," said Macías. "We have the chance to do something special."
