Big Day for Morgan as Voodoo Down Patriots, 6-1
|
The timely hitting of Lance Morgan helped the MSL New Orleans Voodoo down the MSL Boston Patriots, 6-1. Morgan was 4 for 4 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Voodoo. Wilfred Pope got the win, improving to 12-2. He worked 7 innings, giving up 1 run on 4 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 3. The first-place Patriots dropped to 33-15.
With no one out in the bottom of the fourth, John Cross hit a go-ahead, run-scoring double. It was his 4th double of the season and with it the Voodoo took a 2-1 lead.
"I still think this team can play even better," Morgan told the MSL New Orleans Citizen.
