Opening day festivities have begun throughout the league. Fans of the MSL Panama City Piranhas were eager to watch Peter Wells square off against Garry McDonald of the visiting MSL Montana Pandas. In the end, the Piranhas won the game, 2-1, with Peter Wells leading the way. The winner was Isaías Garza in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Iestyn Covenay took the loss.

The decisive blow was delivered by Roy Jolly in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a 2-run double off 17-year old right-handed pitcher Iestyn Covenay to win the game for MSL Panama City. The home crowd went nuts.

"I like our moxie," said Piranhas manager Anthony Mitchell.
