Piranhas Wells Named SMSL's Best Pitcher

There was nobody finer on the mound in July and Peter Wells cruised to the USSL Mexican Summer League Pitcher of the Month award today.
He was 3-1 with a 1.33 ERA while piling up 23 strikeouts in 27 innings and holding opposing hitters to a .239 batting average.
Over the season Wells has thrown 81 innings and dished out 62 strikeouts with a 8-3 mark and a 1.56 ERA.

MSL Vancouver's Lestof Bags SMSL Batting Award

Christovão Lestof put together a good July to earn the USSL Mexican Summer League Batter of the Month prize. A virtual unknown, he made the most of his chance to prove to MSL Vancouver officials that he belongs on the big league roster.
The Grey Wolves right fielder posted a .385 batting average with 6 home runs, 14 RBIs and 10 runs scored.
This season, Lestof is swinging the bat at a .338 rate with 50 hits in 148 at-bats. To date he has hit 12 home runs, scored 25 runs and driven in 35.
