The MSL Pittsburgh Kingfishers inaugurated the 2062 campaign with a disappointing 12-3 loss to the MSL Las Vegas Flamingos at MSL Pittsburgh Ballpark. MSL Las Vegas left fielder Fernando Fernández had a big impact on the outcome. He went 4-6 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. Picking up the win was Stanley Daniel. He went 5 innings, allowing 1 run on 8 hits. The right--hander struck out 6 and walked 3.

Dave Harding had a big 3-run home run for the Flamingos in the top of the fifth inning. With MSL Las Vegas leading 4-1 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a curveball from 18-year old left-handed pitcher Xaavier Clemons and swatted a home run to center. It was his 1st home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Flamingos ahead, 7-1.

"Good baseball players make you a smarter manager," said MSL Las Vegas manager Augusto Pérez.
