Ponies Stick Leviathan with 6-3 Loss
|
The MSL Nova Scotia Leviathan got a sterling performance from pitcher Rob Harvey, but the MSL Kingston Ponies still prevailed, 6-3. Harvey threw 5.0 innings of shutout ball. Hidekazu Saito earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 3 hits in 4 innings. He upped his record to 1-0. With the win, MSL Kingston improves its record to 3-1.
Mario Castro came through with a big-time hit for MSL Kingston. The left fielder smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to give his team the lead, 6-3. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"Enjoyed this one," Castro told the MSL Kingston Herald. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
